Inspect and insure the quality of materials coming off the Sanders and Book Saw are held within company specifications. 

  • Perform daily quality checks on all materials coming off the book saw and grade bin
  • Communicate to Operator and/or Team Lead when quality of product becomes out of spec
  • Must be able to read and understand all packaging requirements at change over and be able to accurately communicate changes to the floor crew
  • Ensure damaged material is pulled out of a grade material and rejected
  • Ensure stock pallets are used on first orders coming off the book saw
  • Locate and use filler board and partial pallets from partial bay area
  • Know how to break the light barrier to stop the saw from moving
  • Operate manual controls for the book saw rollers and the grade line
  • Ensure cover boards are kept flush with materials coming off the book saw
  • Help Sanding Operators and Assistants in blade change
  • Help Sanding operators in light maintenance performed on the saw including preventive maintenance on scheduled down days.
  • Identify saw problems and notify Operators and/or Team Leaders
  • Fill in for employees on the floor in Sanding during breaks and in the event of an absence
  • Must be able to correctly fill out all paperwork for materials coming off the grade bin and book saw
  • Observes safe work practices in compliance with the safety policy
  • Complete other duties as assigned

PLEASE NOTE: This is a rotating Day shift position, 6 am - 6 pm


1 yr experience in a manufacturing setting.


Operate a 120 or smaller forklift occasionally.

Ability to read a tape ruler and micrometer

Able to use a computer frequently


Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally.

Must be able to push or pull 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally.

Must be able to make repetitive motions involving twisting and turning.

Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time on concrete.

Must be able to kneel and bend over frequently.

Must be able to climb on and work around machinery resulting in awkward or uncomfortable positions.

Must be able to use hand tools frequently.

Must be able to work in varying temperatures up to 110 degrees and dusty environment.

Must be able to climb vertical ladders, multiple flights of stairs and work off elevated surfaces.

Must not have any limitations in regards to working in confined spaces or wearing a respirator for extended periods of time.

Must be able to sit and drive forklift on uneven driving surface.

Must have vision of 20/50 with corrective lenses if needed.
